I'm an illustrator, teacher, and art director based in Salem, Massachusetts.
I teach illustration at Massachusetts College of Art and Design. I’ve previously taught at Pratt Institute and Lesley University. I have given lectures, critiques, and workshops at ArtCenter College of Design, Rhode Island School of Design, the School of Visual Arts, Parsons, and Emerson.
I’ve worked as at Art Director for The New York Times, a Creative Director for Flagship Pioneering and MIT Technology Review, and Illustration and Design Editor at The New Yorker. A portfolio of selected art direction work can be viewed here.
My work has received recognition from American Illustration, the American Institute of Graphic Arts, The American Society of Magazine Editors, the Art Directors Club (Young Guns 9, 2011), It’s Nice That, the Society of Illustrators, the Society of Publication Designers, and the Type Director’s Club.
